About Alex
As a self taught Artist, Alex Cargill lives in Northumberland, United Kingdom. Born and raised in Arbroath, Scotland he moved to Washington, Tyne and Wear in the 1960's Alex was always interested in art, something that had been a family trait throughout the generations. But it was not until he was in his early 50's that he picked up his late father's Watercolour Box and he started to paint seriously.
What started off as small postcard scenery, soon became an obsession to create larger pieces.
He has a passion for Watercolour, and has recently in 2015 made a move into using also Acrylic and Oil as mediums.
After a lot of support from friends and family, it is his ambition to put on a showcase of his art in 2015. Alex is primarily concerned with landscapes and architecture, and mostly enjoys painting scenes of local landmarks and everyday street scenes.
